This was a brownfield site located to the rear of an operational business premises and the site area had previously been used as storage of waste materials. We carried out a detailed survey prior to site establishment in order to classify the type and quantity of surplus materials that we were likely to generate as part of the works so that we could find a suitable and compliant point of re-use.

In addition to this, during the design phase, we carried out trial pitting to accurately locate the presence of existing HV cables in order to ensure that the proposed development did not infringe on any easements.

Ground conditions were poor and this site received piled foundations to a depth of approximately 18 metres. All works were undertaken safely and without incident, whilst maintaining access for the neighbouring business at all times. Working closely with our suppliers and having regular meetings we were able to plan and manage all deliveries and successfully avoid any delays that may have been caused by a prolonged section of roadworks and road closures that were being undertaken in the local area at the same time as our works.
